OUR STORY

Years ago, Dan Halperin and I formed Epiphany Pictures and, after a long delay, produced the television series entitled, Picture Windows.  This is the simple version. What actually happened was much more colorful and inconsistent.  The idea for Picture Windows was born of a notion by David W. Wachs, a friend and neighbor.  When we saw his pitch, we knew it needed to be changed from a concept of bringing paintings to life to marrying paintings to literature and bringing them together under the tutelage of world class directors.

We had many pitfalls along the way, despite producing our independent, award winning pilot, Rosemary, through the kindness of friends and benefactors and industry icon Earl Lestz.  But it wasn't until Adam Fierro introduced us to Cathy Konrad, the famed producer of Ring of Fire, that the pitch finally got some traction. Her boss at the time was Norman Jewison.  Norman would become our partner and Executive Producer and direct one of the episoles.  The series won an Emmy and opened Cannes that year.

EPIPHANY BROTHERS kinda, sorta, but not brothers, really...

After the sale to Showtime,  Cathy, Dan and I worked feverishly, attaching directors and a deficit finance company. Cathy was a powerhouse and it was our pleasure to work with her in bringing name directors to the project.  She moved on to greater opportunities to our regret.  Had she stayed aboard, the show would certainly have had many more successful seasons.

Following the critical success of Picture Windows, Dan and I went on to produce Road Kings (aka Road Dogs), a Lions Gate Release, with Director Detdrich McClure.

We created the PBS Series, Phenomenon: The Lost Archives, with Dean Stockwell: 14 hour programs on fringe topics such as the history of cult suicide and the founding of the Federal Reserve System.

Dan and I continue to be great friends and plan future collaborations.
