Radha Bhattacharji has over 30 years proven track record as a senior media executive and motion picture producer in Los Angeles and New York.  She has identified the commercial viability of products through acquisition, film production, investor relations and distribution. She has worked as a production executive/producer on several films, including MANHUNTER, IN COUNTRY, RAINMAN and BATMAN. Bhattacharji has successfully managed multimillion-dollar budgets across a portfolio of projects with visible performance on investment benchmarks, namely box office returns.  She is solutions focused  and has proven leadership abilities in opening, establishing, managing and overseeing offices and staff, as well as in making a smooth transition from independent production company status to major studio presence.  Additionally, Bhattacharji has taken over a dormant motion picture division and transformed it into a fully active and vibrant entity attracting high-profile writers, actors and directors to projects she acquired and/or developed. 

 

She is a producer fully involved in the creative process who can also oversee physical film production.  Bhattacharji has worked with a number of directors, authors, playwrights, screenwriters and actors, including Oliver Stone, Danny Glover, Francis Ford Coppola, Frank Pugliese, Robert Redford, Alvin Sargent, Judith Guest, David Henry Hwang, Barry Levinson, Michael Mann, Ben Affleck, Tony Richardson, Joan Didion, Norman Mailer, Tom Wolfe and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

 

Bhattacharji has held senior positions in such organizations as Guber-Peters Entertainment Company, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Samuel Goldwyn Productions, Mark Rydell Productions and served as head of the motion picture division at Quincy Jones Entertainment.

Bhattacharji took a break from the entertainment business for some years to serve as a policy analyst and speechwriter to the Under-Secretary-General/Executive Director for the United Nations Population Fund.  While there, she was responsible for formulating and implementing policy as well as writing speeches, book forwards, statements and policy papers.  Additionally, she wrote statements at global conferences for several world leaders, ambassadors and dignitaries at their request, including Dr. Nicolas Biegmann, Dutch Ambassador to NATO and former First Lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A New Yorker, Bhattacharji recently formed a motion picture production company and moved to Kolkata for some years, with a view to developing, packaging and producing movies that can be financed and distributed both in India as well as the United States, for local and global audiences.  She has established herself firmly in the creative community; and is currently working on developing projects with Indian and American talent.  She will begin dividing her time between the U.S. and India in 2017.
